photos by: Terry ReedFounded in 1991, the Northwest Sinfonietta is a regional professional orchestra based in Tacoma, WA. It is comprised of thirty six musicians (23 strings, 12 winds, and timpani) under the leadership of Conductor/ Music Director, Christophe Chagnard. It was founded in 1991 on the occasion of the Mozart bicentennial by Kathryn Habedank and Christophe Chagnard and has since been hailed as one of the finest ensembles in the Northwest. Concerts are presented in Tacoma, at the Rialto Theater and Town Hall in Seattle. Other performances have taken place in Kirkland, Lynnwood, Olympia, Port Towsned, and for the first time Bremerton in 2005.
